Nestled between the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne, just a stone’s throw from historic bastides and centuries-old castles, Maison Rosé offers a place where authenticity meets modern comfort. With its expansive landscaped garden, private pool, and bright, airy interiors, it’s the perfect destination for a family or friends getaway.

A home where life is seen through rose-colored glasses

"The location is perfect—peaceful and tucked between farms, yet close to everything you need for a great vacation."

Spacious yet inviting, Maison Rosé is the ultimate holiday home. With four stylish bedrooms—including a three-tier bunk bed the kids will love—it’s designed for comfort all around. Two bathrooms, a generous open kitchen, and a roomy living area make it perfect for everyone to relax and enjoy.

The garden is its own little slice of paradise, with a big pool, a trampoline, and a swing to keep the kids busy—plus an outdoor kitchen for long, lazy meals under the southern sun.

From Holland
to Monflanquin

Before becoming the charming getaway it is today, Maison Rosé spent a few years in neglect. It was in 2022 that Tim and Marlous, a Dutch couple, had the (good) idea of buying a holiday home in the South of France — where they plan to settle for good in 2025. “We wanted to create a place where we’d love to spend our own holidays, whether as a family or with friends,” says Tim.

So they brought their children along and settled into this old stone house, full of charm and potential, for their holidays — on the border between the Dordogne and Lot-et-Garonne. Their dream: to transform it into a haven of rest and relaxation, made for holidays.

A renovation
carried out with the utmost care

The key word at Maison Rosé? Conviviality!

The key word at Maison Rosé? Conviviality!

When they first arrived, the house was a far cry from the idyllic escape they’d imagined. “Everything was dark, the bathrooms were straight out of the ’80s, and the kitchen ceiling was ridiculously low,” Tim recalls. But rather than get discouraged, they dove into a full-scale renovation—preserving the exposed beams and original character while bringing everything else into the present.

They opened up the space above the kitchen to create a bright, open-plan hub—the true heart of the home, flooded with natural light. “The kitchen’s the main gathering spot here—food is a big deal in this region,” says Tim.

One of the biggest transformations? The custom-built pool, designed to blend seamlessly into the garden. They also reimagined the outdoor space to open up beautiful views of the surrounding fields, all in collaboration with local artisans. The result: a country house full of charm—with none of the outdated, rustic clichés.

Quiet luxury
and French touch

The décor at Maison Rosé strikes a delicate balance between tradition and modern flair. Think terracotta tiles and exposed beams paired with sleek designer pieces from the Netherlands. “We wanted the interiors to feel elegant but minimalist,” says Tim.

The bedrooms, for instance, have a boutique hotel vibe—with plush bedding and a calm, restful atmosphere. A soft palette of neutrals with green accents brings a sense of freshness and light to each room. Subtle touches of luxury throughout the house add to its understated, relaxed charm.

Throughout the house, a lovely mix of antique and contemporary pieces.

Vacation
in full bloom

The surroundings of Maison Rosé are full of treasures waiting to be discovered. Just a few kilometers away, charming medieval towns like Monflanquin, Issigeac, and Villeréal offer the perfect setting to wander their squares and explore local markets, a feast for the eyes as much as for the taste buds. ‘The region is famous for its exceptional cuisine, and there are plenty of options for guests to enjoy a relaxed family meal or indulge in a fine dining experience. Of course, a visit to a vineyard or a cheesemaker is a must during the stay!’

For the adventurous types, there’s rafting, rock climbing, zip-lining—you name it. And of course, the region is dotted with castles hosting events all year round. Or you can simply stay in and make your own fun: throw a pizza party with the outdoor oven, lounge by the pool, or pick fresh figs from the garden (and soon, oranges—once the trees have had their moment).
