The postcard from J’ai Faim at Villa Cosima

Seb and Mika, the creative duo behind the food studio J’ai Faim, delight audiences with their sunny recipes and polished visuals. Their mantra? Cool food, good spots. While on vacation at Villa Cosima—a property that perfectly embodies the French Riviera’s charm with its flower-filled gardens, sea-view terraces, 1930s Italian architecture, and contemporary refinement—the two foodies reveal their top recommendations in Cap d’Antibes (and beyond!).

Seb & Mika, you delight our eyes on Instagram. Can you tell us about your artistic approach?

We are driven by both beauty and taste. A beautifully arranged plate, a well-composed dish, an elegant embroidered tablecloth— aesthetics are central to our creative process. Natural light is essential for creating content that resonates, which is why we often find ourselves drawn to sunny destinations like Mexico and the Cyclades…

Lovers of both fine food and beauty, can you tell us which places inspire you the most in France (and beyond)?

Paris holds a very special place in our hearts—it’s where it all began. From the café down the street in the 4th arrondissement to our latest favorite spot, Paris is brimming with charming and inspiring little places. However, it’s our travels in Asia and Greece that truly ignite our culinary creativity. The specific spices, the unique methods of preparing ingredients—cuisines from around the world continue to educate and amaze us.

In your view, what role does food play in the hospitality industry (hotels, guesthouses, boutique hotels, etc.)?

There’s been a revival in recent years. Gone are the bland buffets and tasteless dishes; more and more establishments are bringing in talented chefs to revitalize their menus. For example, we had the incredible opportunity to do two culinary residencies—one in the Cyclades and the other at Hoxton Paris—and the experience was simply amazing.

Did the magic of inspiration work its charm during your recent stay at Villa Cosima?

Despite the fickle weather, we were instantly transported to the golden age of the French Riviera. Villa Cosima, with its serene ambiance and focus on relaxation, is a true ode to the south of France, nestled in a preserved haven with an exceptional view. Creating recipes and photographing them in such an enchanting setting was an absolute pleasure.

What were the highlights of your stay at the Villa? What are your favorite spots in the house?

From the kitchen, which has preserved its old-world charm where we enjoyed hearty lunches, to the shaded terrace under a pale pink pergola and the balconies offering breathtaking views, Villa Cosima has been meticulously designed down to the finest details.

What essentials should you pack (or pick up on site!) for a stay at Villa Cosima?

Our camera gear, a pair of vintage sunglasses, a Prada swimsuit, Boston Birkenstocks, stoneware plates, a large Monoprix x J’ai faim tote bag, Aesop sunscreen, a Jacquemus jacket, linen trousers and a book to devour.

As experts on good spots, do you have any recommendations around Cap d’Antibes?

Without a doubt:

Veziano Bakery (2 Rue de la Pompe), La Sirène Fish Market (18 Cr Masséna), Antibes Market (Cr Masséna), L’Épicerie Italienne (28 Bd Maréchal Leclerc) and Josy’s Bagnat bread (Bd James Wyllie).

Finally, the postcard from Seb & Mika:

6 PM on a secluded cove on the island of Milos. The sun casts its final golden rays. The endless sea stretches before you, accompanied by the soothing sound of the waves. Nothing more, nothing less—pure tranquility!
