Southern Sicily’s hidden gem: a luxurious villa nestled in the heart of an olive grove

"Sicily has it all: nature, culture, as well as the finest cuisine and wines."

Perched atop a hill in the heart of an organic olive grove, Casa Carlita stands out as a contemporary villa designed in a comb shape to preserve the century-old trees scattered across its nearly four-hectare estate. Built using local materials, including sandstone for the façades, the villa spans 340 m² and boasts four double bedrooms—each with its own bathroom—a living area, dining room, kitchen, and laundry room. With large windows and expansive terraces, guests can soak up plenty of vitamin D under the Sicilian sun.

In the garden, you can wander among the olive trees or relax by the pool. “From the top of the tower—a signature feature of Casa Carlita—overlooking the stunning yellow-tiled pool, you’ll never tire of admiring the Val di Noto and the starry night sky. It’s the perfect property for exploring the unspoiled beauty of southern Sicily while indulging in comfort, luxury, and top-notch services. The icing on the cake? Casa Carlita offers access to Masseria della Volpe, a luxurious hotel with exclusive amenities: tennis courts, a spa, and even a helipad. Benvenuti in Sicilia !

Contemporary architecture,
Sicilian atmosphere

Nature all around the house.

Nature all around the house.

Built in 2023, Casa Carlita is a true reflection of Sicily, constructed entirely with materials from the island. Its fortunate owners, passionate about the region, collaborated with Sicilian architects Valentina Giampiccolo and Giuseppe Minaldi, founders of the architectural studio Gum, to bring their vision to life. Together, they created a timeless space—a home inspired by Sicily’s essence yet defined by contemporary lines, built around the olive trees that serve as the property’s focal point. As Valentina puts it: “A fluid house, developing around the olive trees, offering different living spaces according to the seasons.”

Beyond its architectural appeal, Casa Carlita is a haven for vacationers. Every detail has been thoughtfully designed: a large, beautiful pool, a fully equipped kitchen, expansive terraces perfectly placed to enjoy the Noto Valley’s olive trees, spacious bedrooms with private bathrooms, and even a study (perfect for mixing work with Sicilian pleasure). Everything you need for a buonissime vacanze!

A haven of
untouched nature

When you love a place, it’s only natural to want to preserve it. This is certainly true for the owners of Casa Carlita, who designed the house with a clear goal of minimizing its environmental footprint. Located within an organic olive grove, not a single tree was removed to build the house, whose unique shape and rooms blend seamlessly among the olive trees. Even the Mediterranean garden is watered with rainwater!

Inside, excellent insulation has been installed to protect against both heat and cold. And that’s not all! It might not look like it at first glance, but the parking roof is actually a photovoltaic energy production facility that powers the entire property. We wouldn’t expect anything less from Casa Carlita, which blends perfectly into its surroundings.

According to the owners of Casa Carlita, Sicily is a true paradise. You just need to visit it to agree! To get into the spirit before your arrival, revisit the classics: The Leopard and The Earth Trembles by Luchino Visconti, Andrea Camilleri’s novels, Franco Battiato’s songs…

Once there, live like a local with recommendations from the hosts: explore the streets of Syracuse and Noto, “the baroque jewel of Sicily,” enjoy a refined Mediterranean lunch at Manna on a charming terrace, have a picnic at Spiaggia di Eloro, and savor a granita di Mandorla (delicious almond milk granita) at Caffè Sicilia.

Another highlight is discovering the Vendicari Nature Reserve, whose crystal-clear waters make it a favorite spot for swimming enthusiasts. Ready to pack your bags?
