KindaHouse

In Seignosse, a Greek house nestled between pine trees and the ocean

With its white facade, light-filled interiors, and Mediterranean plants, KindaHouse has a touch of Greece to it. A true gem just 200 meters from the beach, perfect for six surf enthusiasts, where the crafts of the Landes region take center stage.

In Seignosse, a Greek house nestled between pine trees and the ocean

Designed like a small showroom, KindaHouse was crafted in collaboration with local artisans and creators. Staying here means experiencing the very best the region has to offer!

Originally, KindaHouse was the home of Chloé’s grandparents. Now owned by Chloé, a journalist and founder of KindaBreak—a guide to the hot spots of the Landes region—the house has been lovingly renovated with her partner, Jean-Pierre. Located in Seignosse’s ‘Greek village,’ a collection of whitewashed homes tucked behind the dunes with architecture reminiscent of Greece, the property has been transformed with the help of Ligne Architecture, a studio based in Hossegor.

After living in Seignosse for 20 years, Chloé and Jean-Pierre envisioned the vacation home as a showcase of local craftsmanship. From sunscreen to beer, and even the paint on the walls, everything is sourced from the Landes, highlighting the work of around fifty artisans. Accommodating six guests, KindaHouse is perfect for surf lovers, families, and small groups of friends seeking an authentic, locally-inspired vacation.

On the ground floor, KindaHouse features a cozy living area, two bedrooms, and a mezzanine. It boasts two gardens—one at the front and one at the back—allowing life to flow effortlessly between indoor and outdoor spaces, all while soaking up the sunny Landes weather. It’s the perfect vacation vibe!

Adding to the charm is the expansive Taichi park, with its picturesque pond, which connects the homes in the Greek village. This peaceful haven offers open views of lush greenery and the ocean, providing a refreshing escape, especially during the lively summer months.

And the highlight? After a day of surfing or a stroll through the pine forest, relax in the garden bathtub, then fire up the barbecue on the terrace for a perfect evening under the stars!

A beach cocoon

Built in the 1960s, KindaHouse received a remarkable makeover before welcoming its first guests. To bring their vision to life, Chloé and Jean-Pierre collaborated with Natacha and Cédric, a dynamic duo of architects behind Ligne Architecture, a studio founded in 2020 in Hossegor.

“They perfectly understood how to modernize the house while preserving its original identity and harmony with the surrounding Landes landscape,” says Chloé. The renovation expanded the space, including the addition of a mezzanine to enhance the 70 m² layout, creating a more open and outdoor-connected living experience. Local artisans contributed to the transformation, resulting in a functional, beautifully crafted space. Bravo!

Seignosse dream

In Seignosse, there’s a distinct California-inspired vibe—wild, free, and deeply connected to nature and the ocean. When Chloé talks about her beloved region, it’s impossible not to want to experience it for yourself! Whether it’s a day at the beach with surfboards and wetsuits ready at the house, or exploring the area by bike or longboard (also available), there’s always something exciting to do.

Chloé, with her insider knowledge, has all the best spots lined up. Her top picks? Le Surfing at Estagnots Beach for a bistro-style dinner, the beach shack Couleur Locale at Les Bourdaines for a sunset drink with a sea view, and a peaceful stroll around Lake Hossegor under the pines. Then, you can just do it all again the next day!
