"The house exudes charm. It's slightly rustic, with a contemporary touch."
Nestled on a charming street in the picturesque village of Cabrières-d’Avignon, lies Solaire. This dry-stone Provençal gem, reimagined by interior designer Aurélie Amorosi, lives up to its radiant name. Fully renovated in 2023, the home is a vibrant ode to Provence and the French Riviera, with its sunlit spaces, cheerful lemon-yellow accents, and thoughtful nods to the region’s storied past.
Spread over two floors, Solaire comfortably accommodates six guests in three inviting bedrooms. The charming courtyard, surrounded by historic stone walls—befitting a home with 19th-century roots tied to the medieval village—features a petite plunge pool, offering a refreshing escape during Provence’s warm summers. Ideally situated, Solaire is the perfect base for exploring nearby picturesque villages or venturing to the Mediterranean, just an hour away.

Born in Alsace and a Marseillaise for nearly a decade, Aurélie Amorosi fell head over heels for the Luberon after discovering its undeniable charm. It didn’t take long for the interior designer to decide to purchase a home in this picturesque corner of Provence. In 2022, she came across a century-old Provençal gem that ticked all the boxes.
True to the region, the house blends seamlessly with its surroundings of cypress trees and olive groves: dry-stone walls, terracotta canal tiles, and mint-green shutters. During the renovation, Aurélie made it a priority to preserve as many of the original features as possible, staying true to her vision of Provence. The result? A home full of character, marrying rustic charm with contemporary flair.

Long live
Provence!

When Aurélie takes on a renovation or interior design project, her process begins with immersing herself in the local surroundings, researching history, visiting similar spaces, and sourcing regional materials. At Solaire, this thoughtful approach ensured the preservation of the building’s authentic character. Using local materials such as terracotta tiles, ceramic details, and traditional roof tiles, she also added subtle nods to Provence. Throughout the home, you’ll find dried bouquets of local flowers, charming santons, and even a vintage lavender beater, a relic from past harvests.
To furnish the space, Aurélie turned to L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, famous for its high-quality antique dealers. Inspired by the sunny yellow tiles in the kitchen, she created a home full of warmth and vibrancy. Shades of yellow, orange, camel, and terracotta weave through the rooms, evoking the golden glow of the Provençal sun and making Solaire as inviting as it is beautiful.
Holidays
in Provence
Tied to the historic center of Cabrières-d’Avignon, Solaire offers more than just charm—it’s a gateway to the village’s rich past. History buffs will appreciate discovering “the Plague Wall,” a stone rampart in the Vaucluse mountains built in the early 18th century to protect the Comtat Venaissin from the plague that devastated Marseille and parts of Provence.
The surrounding area is equally captivating. Neighboring villages, many recognized as the Most Beautiful Villages in France, invite exploration: wander the streets of Gordes for its stunning views, browse L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue’s antique shops for unique vacation finds, or catch a performance at the famous Avignon Festival. For outdoor enthusiasts, hiking trails start just steps from the house. In Provence, there’s truly something for everyone!
