In the south of Puglia, a 16th-century townhouse that blends baroque and contemporary styles

"Casa a Corte promises a vacation where farniente is an art of living and the dolce vita can be fully enjoyed."

Far in the south of Puglia, Casa a Corte is situated in the historic center of Nardò, an authentic Italian town perfect for leisurely strolls. In Italian, "Casa a Corte" translates to "house with a courtyard," a traditional style commonly found in southern Italy. At this property, the courtyard is a delightful 80m² green patio, complete with a swimming pool and garden furniture, offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the town.

The 170m² house, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, is designed to host ten guests and revolves around its charming courtyard—a little slice of nature in the heart of the city. This exclusive location offers an immersion in local traditions, just a few minutes' walk from restaurants, wine bars, and shops, and only 15 minutes by car from the Ionian Sea. With its blend of baroque and contemporary styles, the house offers exceptional comfort, featuring five spacious bedrooms, a large, fully equipped kitchen, and many amenities. Let the vacation begin!

Serenity and authenticity
on the agenda

The living room where centuries-old stone meets vintage furniture.

The living room where centuries-old stone meets vintage furniture.

If two words were to define Casa a Corte, they would undoubtedly be "serenity" and "authenticity." This building is one of the oldest in Nardò, and during its renovation, owners Anne and Sylvain uncovered ancient stone sculptures, which they carefully preserved. In 2019, after more than two years of meticulous restoration aimed at preserving the house’s unique character, Casa a Corte was born. The result is a true architectural gem in the heart of baroque Salento, with every detail thoughtfully considered.

The owners wanted to pay tribute to the region's baroque artistic tradition: designer pieces, a gilded chandelier, and a sunburst mirror blend seamlessly with the ancient stones and contemporary furnishings. A harmonious meeting of three worlds!

A house
worthy of a grand hotel

After successful careers in the luxury hospitality sector, Anne and Sylvain decided to open their own guest house. "We’ve always dreamed of our little home in Italy, a warm and welcoming place where we could share our passion for the art of hospitality." Turning that dream into reality, they created Casa a Corte, and the result exceeded all expectations.

Beyond the personalized welcome and daily housekeeping, Anne and Sylvain are fully dedicated to their guests' satisfaction. They offer a range of services, including a private chef, cooking classes to master traditional orecchiette pasta, private wine tastings at top regional producers, and boat excursions. These "little" extras truly make all the difference on vacation!

Welcome to Puglia

Step through the gate, and you're off to explore Puglia.

Step through the gate, and you're off to explore Puglia.

To have a great vacation in Puglia, you need to love sunshine, crystal-clear seas, and exceptional cuisine. Indeed, the itinerary is all set here: hike through Porto Selvaggio, a lush protected forest along the coast; explore the surrounding villages; enjoy evening festivities; and experience the famous sagre, where you can savor delicious local dishes and wines while listening to live music.

Another equally delightful activity is swimming in the Adriatic or Ionian seas. After these busy days, there's only one desire: to return to Casa a Corte, whip up a tasty pasta dish in the fully-equipped kitchen, and then relax on the sofa for a movie night with the projector. An Italian classic like La Dolce Vita would be perfect in this setting!
