A palazzo in the heart of Nardò
"We fell in love with Nardò from our very first visit—its stunning Baroque architecture, authentic local life, and peaceful atmosphere. A true hidden gem off the beaten path."
In the historic center of Nardò, right in the heart of Puglia and just ten minutes from the Ionian Sea beaches, Palazzo Ventidue has been carefully restored by its Berlin-based owners, Manuel and Stefan, who envisioned a place where history blends harmoniously with modern comfort.
The building has been meticulously renovated to showcase its original architectural features. With three bedrooms, three bathrooms, a spacious kitchen, 200 m² of living space, and a 150 m² rooftop terrace, Palazzo Ventidue welcomes up to eight guests, ready to embrace la dolce vita!
Back
to the past

The (happy) owners, Manuel and Stefan.
Palazzo Ventidue is a testament to Nardò’s noble past. Abandoned for 20 years before its restoration in 2023, it was once home to a doctor. The current owners, Manuel and Stefan, discovered this hidden gem almost by chance during a holiday in Italy. Captivated by the town’s authenticity and charm, they partnered with local architect Luigi Albano to restore the grandeur of this remarkable place.
This palazzo features typical baroque elements of the region, with spectacular vaulted ceilings and an impressive structure. The renovation preserved its historical identity, retaining original details such as the frescoes uncovered beneath layers of plaster. In the grand living room, one feels almost as though in a chapel, thanks to its 7.5-meter-high ceiling and the exposed frescoes.

An Italian-style
decor
The interior decor of Palazzo Ventidue elegantly combines Italian vintage pieces with custom designs by the owners. Every object has a story to tell—like the large wooden dining table in the kitchen, which once belonged to an old tobacco factory. In the bedrooms, painted in soft, natural lime tones, vibrant furniture and artwork add character, from flea market armchairs to a striking painting by Victor Payares in the living room.
Among the most remarkable spaces, the kitchen stands out with its vaulted pink ceiling, uncovered during the renovation, while the rooftop terrace offers unforgettable sunsets over Nardò. The palazzo features four spacious bedrooms, including an independent suite and a room directly on the terrace, boasting breathtaking city views. When it comes to comfort, no detail has been overlooked—each bedroom has its own bathroom, and the house is equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, along with a terrace featuring an outdoor kitchen and a lounge area.

Puglia
Nardò is the perfect destination for those seeking an escape from the crowds while enjoying an exceptional setting. “We fell in love with this town from our very first visit—its stunning Baroque architecture, perhaps one of the most beautiful piazzas in Salento, authentic local life, and peaceful atmosphere. A true gem off the beaten path, right in the heart of southern Italy’s paradise,” says Manuel.
Food lovers will be spoiled for choice with local specialties, from homemade pasta and fresh seafood to exceptional regional wines. Among the owners’ favorite spots: Gustavo for a modern take on Salentine cuisine, Antica Trattoria Salandra for traditional dishes, and Caffè Parisi for a coffee on the terrace at any time of day.
The crystal-clear beaches of Puglia are just a ten-minute drive from Palazzo Ventidue. For those eager to explore, Salento offers countless cultural treasures. Lecce, often called “the Florence of the South,” is a must-visit for its charming streets and vibrant terraces. Galatina, with its medieval town atmosphere, and Gallipoli, with its old town set on an island, are also top destinations.
