"Casa Pernoise invites you to unwind, slow down, or get creative in the kitchen—whatever suits your mood!"
Nestled in the medieval village of Pernes-les-Fontaines, in the heart of Provence, Casa Pernoise (named after the village) is much more than just a vacation home. Built in the early 20th century, this former bastide, once the main house of a farmstead, was completely reimagined and renovated in 2020 by Lau Dejente, stylist and creator of a décor and furniture boutique just next door.
Centered around a charming courtyard with a sleek concrete pool framed by Mediterranean greenery, the house offers three double bedrooms, a dormitory for four guests, and four bathrooms. Its inviting living spaces are designed for gathering and making the most of your time together—all just five minutes from the town center and its shops. Mi casa (Pernoise) es tu casa!

On the grounds of the renowned Maison Pernoise, the region’s iconic décor boutique, Lau—its founder and stylist-designer—discovered an abandoned bastide. Alongside her partner Laurent, an artist and osteopath, she fell in love with this forgotten gem and decided to restore it while preserving its original charm. Today, guests can still admire the soaring ceilings, walk on the original tiled floors, and appreciate the timeless beauty of antique materials.
For the courtyard, Lau made a bold design choice: a raw concrete finish, intentionally left unfinished to embrace a Mediterranean aesthetic. This weathered look reflects the philosophy of wabi-sabi, the Japanese art of finding beauty in imperfection and the passage of time.
The Maison Pernoise
touch
Inside, every space has been thoughtfully designed to inspire tranquility. From the lime-washed walls in soft, natural tones to the minimalist décor, the ambiance seamlessly blends Japanese simplicity with Provençal warmth, enveloping guests in a sense of serenity.
Scattered throughout are unique finds from Lau’s shop—antique pottery, vintage Marseille posters, and the iconic rattan sun, a signature of La Maison Pernoise. Each piece is available for purchase, allowing guests to take home a part of the house as a lasting souvenir. Natural materials—raw wood, thick linen, and handmade ceramics—come together in perfect harmony, shaping a Mediterranean-inspired décor infused with creativity and soul.
