Let’s head to Burgundy and its countryside homes to reconnect with nature! Leading the way is The Couvent des Ormes: a 19th-century former convent for nuns that teaches us a lesson in minimalism.

"We had a real crush when discovering this house. Everything about it is charming and rustic."
So much has happened in this countryside building before The Oasis House team transformed it into a holiday home worthy of its name! Fun fact: it was originally a station used to supply the capital with bricks made in the area. The atmosphere changed when the property became a guesthouse, and later, it was bought by a Japanese artist family. Today, The Oasis House—armed with plenty of experience—has revitalized it to welcome travelers craving the countryside but eager for comfort and modernity. In this vast 630 m² property, large groups—colleagues, cousins, friends—gather for fun activities: paddle tennis, foosball, karaoke, pétanque, biking, a cinema room, a banquet table for 50 people, and a night in a Lumipod. At La Prairie, there’s no risk of getting bored!
The hands-on approach
or feet under the table
The Oasis House has the knack for thinking of everything, ensuring everyone finds happiness at La Prairie. On vacation, there are two types of people. For those full of energy who want to make the most of every minute, they will be well served here. Hiking, cooking classes, yoga, brewery tours, painting workshops—there’s something for everyone.
And for those who want to do nothing and just relax, the concierge service is there to provide personalized assistance throughout the stay: private chef, daily cleaning, handling last-minute surprises, and more. Even down to the bedding, The Oasis House has thought of everything with their ‘pillow bar’ concept, allowing each guest to choose their favorite pillow. If you need information, there’s even an app that reveals all the secrets of the house!

Meticulousness & good taste
The best spot to read by the fireside.
This attention to detail – also found at La Source – is evident in every corner of the house. The renovation, led by Camille Personnat, the founder of The Oasis House, and the Label Experience architectural firm, highlights natural materials, such as the lovely terracotta floor tiles. For the decor, vintage elements have been prominently featured.
In each room, you can feel the great care taken with the decorative elements: the vintage cups and plates displayed in the kitchen, the Sanderson and Morris & Co wallpapers, delightfully rustic, and the wooden furniture, almost entirely sourced by Camille. The result? You feel right at home!
In the two LumiPods of the estate, the window takes up - almost - all the space to rethink the indoor-outdoor relationship.
A region to explore
If you listen closely in the expansive garden of the property, you’ll hear birds singing, and occasionally, the neighing of horses from a nearby equestrian park. This offers a wonderful opportunity to go for rides in the many woods surrounding La Prairie.
For exploring the area, you can participate in a foraging workshop or cycle to the Fontainebleau Forest, the Gâtinais Natural Park, the Bourdelle garden-museum, or the charming village of Barbizon, the cradle of the Impressionists. The grass is certainly not greener elsewhere when you spend your vacation at La Prairie!
