Nestled in a lush setting, just a few minutes’ walk from Château de la Bourlie, Le Pressoir is an enchanting former 14th-century mill that exudes idyllic charm and showcases the typical architecture of the magical Dordogne region.

A Périgordian mill with a castle-like feel

"A peaceful mill, perfect for cozying up in complete privacy."

Tucked away among verdant meadows and captivating forests, a secluded treasure emerges: The Pressoir of Château de la Bourlie. Located beside a serene, untamed stream, this historic mill radiates with exceptional charm and offers a unique ambiance. Covering 450 square meters, The Pressoir provides a tranquil oasis, encouraging guests to unwind and escape the everyday bustle. With four suites and two additional rooms, it comfortably houses up to 12 guests, making it an ideal retreat for both intimate and group gatherings.

“A place to stroll barefoot.”

The place for all pleasures (and discoveries!).

The place for all pleasures (and discoveries!).

Nestled within venerable stone walls, this abode unfurls vast, elegant spaces, marrying timeless pastoral elegance with a dash of contemporary sophistication. The residence, adorned with polished concrete flooring and an imposing fireplace, offers a sanctuary of warmth and style in both winter and summer. Its windows artfully frame the external natural splendor, presenting captivating and enchanting views. Beyond its doors, a geothermally heated saltwater pool awaits, epitomizing discreet luxury and providing an exquisite retreat for relaxation.

Situated on the fringes of the Chateau, Pressoir residents also benefit from thoughtful touches: impeccable daily housekeeping, morning breakfast deliveries, and even the option to summon a private chef for exceptional dinners. The autonomy offered by the equipped kitchen also allows visitors to whip up their own gourmet feasts with ease: the region is teeming with outstanding produce that often speaks for itself!

The story of a castle
not quite like the others.

The transformation of Le Pressoir is part of an ambitious vision led by Cyril de Commarque, who was raised at Château de la Bourlie, and his wife, Ortensia Visconti. This project, profoundly personal and rooted in family heritage, seeks to rejuvenate and elevate the historic estate. Driven by thoughtful reflection on the estate’s relevance in the modern era, they reached an inspiring philosophy: “We love to dream with people.” After five years of meticulous restoration, the castle and its outbuildings now welcome guests for seasonal retreats, embodying a commitment to blending with nature, celebrating history, and embracing art. Art, in particular, is pivotal in the Château’s experience. To underscore this, a boutique art and music festival is set for 2024, leading to a grander collaboration in 2025 with a renowned contemporary art museum and a curator from Printemps de Bourges. These gatherings are poised to offer unparalleled moments of cultural immersion.
