"The peace and quiet are truly delightful, with only the sounds of nature to enjoy as it transforms with the changing seasons."

In the heart of Gascony, amidst the Armagnac vineyards, lies an ode to authentic rural life: Maison L. Built in 1830 on the former grounds of a Gallo-Roman villa, this residence faces a lake and offers panoramic countryside views. Nestled within a three-hectare park, it’s the perfect countryside retreat to enjoy fresh air and the culinary and cultural delights of the Gers.

Spanning 230 m², the interiors of Maison L—named after the hamlet where it is located—feature two suites and two bedrooms. There’s also a cinema room, professional sound system, air conditioning, fireplace, and luxury bedding. Comfort is a top priority here. Finally, a wide range of services is available to the fortunate guests of Maison L.

Nature everywhere.

Nature everywhere.

Built in 1830 to house a farm, wine cellar, and facilities for pastoral and winemaking activities, Maison L was fully renovated in 2024 by its current owners, a Franco-Catalan couple who fell in love with the Gers for its tranquility and the warmth of its people. Typical of local agricultural buildings from that era—with thick limestone walls, wooden beams, and a gently sloping roof of canal tiles—Maison L stands as a true emblem of Gascon rural architecture.

“Maison L is a heartfelt tribute to the Gascony region, capturing its essence in its purest form. The property highlights a carefully chosen palette of materials and colors, brought to life through collaboration with skilled artisans and local craftsmanship, offering a unique interpretation of the Gascon art of living.”

What never gets old is watching the sun rise on one side and set on the other.

Quiet
luxury

Built on a park that once housed a Gallo-Roman villa—mosaics depicting vines were even discovered nearby—the owners of Maison L sought to honor the house’s history by weaving subtle decorative references into its interiors.

A passionate scholar of ancient history, the owner envisioned the layout and decor as a way to “revive the atmosphere of an ancient Roman villa in our time.” Roman busts, farmhouse tables, and modern design classics like Togo armchairs and a USM bar come together to blend traditional craftsmanship with contemporary elegance, all subtly inspired by the style of an ancient Roman villa. The result? Minimalist, elegant, and timeless.

Nestled among vineyards and a wildlife-rich park, Maison L offers activities to suit every preference. Prefer to stay in? Relax with the home cinema, enjoy the professional sound system, or sip hot chocolate by the fire—just choose your team. Outdoors, the pool overlooks a lake perfect for kayaking and fishing, while the park invites nature watching, games of pétanque and badminton, or simply napping to the soothing sounds of the countryside.

For those eager to explore, there’s plenty to discover on foot or by bike: the bastides of Fources and Larressingle, a visit to the Abbey of Flaran, and of course, the local culinary and wine experiences. Savor an Armagnac tasting in a thousand-year-old wine cellar, dine al fresco with views of the vineyards, or wander through the lively markets of nearby villages like Vic-Fezensac or Eauze.
