"The house was thoughtfully designed as a backdrop for joyful moments shared with family and friends."

Perfectly renovated by British architect and designer David Price (whose reputation in Provence needs no introduction), Mas La Pistol is a stunning 350 m² property set within a 1.5-hectare Mediterranean garden. Inside, the décor has been carefully curated by Studio Artcher. The property accommodates up to 15 guests, with five double bedrooms and two dormitories that can host eight children.

Its spacious open kitchen, which connects seamlessly to the dining room and the surrounding nature, serves as the heart of convivial moments. Guests can enjoy the charming terracotta summer lounge, relax by the pool, stroll through the streets of Saint-Étienne-du-Grès, or savor local specialties from the village market. At Mas La Pistol, the vacation agenda is all about relaxation and leisure.

Transformation
of a Provençal farmhouse

During the meticulous renovation of this Provençal farmhouse with architect David Price, the owners reimagined the kitchen by extending the original space towards the outdoor terrace. They removed a wall between the dining room and the garden, replacing it with French doors that provide direct access to the garden and bathe the interiors in natural light. All the bedrooms were updated, and several bathrooms were added to address the house’s original layout, which included only two toilets and two bathrooms. Throughout the project, the design prioritized creating openings to capture the best views and optimal solar exposure, ensuring the interior is flooded with light—a hallmark of this south-of-France retreat.

Large openings were added to bring the garden into the interiors.

Studio Artcher’s
signature touch

Redesigned by the Franco-British interior design agency Studio Artcher, the interiors of Mas La Pistol beautifully blend pieces collected over the years from antique shops and flea markets. The décor exudes a natural, relaxed, and distinctly Provençal charm.

The decorative pieces and furniture were carefully chosen to reflect a soft palette that brings the natural colors of the outdoors inside. Locally sourced furniture and captivating artwork add character, while botanical accents, rattan, polished marble, and stone blend harmoniously, creating a seamless connection between the house and its surroundings.

The exterior is as impressive as the interior, featuring a pool secured with a rolling cover and a brand-new pool house. Here, you’ll find comfortable sofas to curl up on, as well as a summer kitchen to prepare delicious meals.

“The garden is the result of a true labor of passion, and we continue to improve it. We’ve planted very young olive trees that, one day, will form a beautiful grove. We’ve chosen resilient plants suited to the climate, prioritizing sustainable use of natural resources.” Illuminated in the evening, it invites you to extend summer nights on the main terrace, equipped with a large table for alfresco dining. A lively space, both elegant and welcoming, perfect for sharing moments with family or friends.
