"It's a true haven of peace, with no noise except for the sounds of nature and an owl in the evening!"
Located near Montclus, one of France’s most picturesque villages, Mas Re.Source perfectly embodies its name. Positioned between Gard and Ardèche, this secluded retreat is ideal for gathering 16 guests, offering an escape from tourist crowds and city life. The property features an 18th-century stone farmhouse, meticulously renovated to preserve its historic charm, alongside two wooden houses and a spacious 20m² tent. The four-hectare estate is also worth a visit. From the panoramic pool (sunny all day), you can take in views of Mont Ventoux, lavender fields, olive trees, vineyards, and evergreen oaks. Happiness
is in the Gard
Welcome to Mas Re.Source ! © Mr Tripper
It was during the lockdown that Marc and Rémy, originally from Paris, stumbled upon this hidden gem in the less-touristy area of Gard, close to Ardèche. “This region remains relatively unknown, with a raw, wild charm that feels like it’s waiting to be discovered,” they explain. Drawn to this peaceful haven, they decided to leave behind their urban life and, in 2023, purchased the farmhouse. Over a year of renovations followed, completed in the spring of 2024. Starting with a near blank slate—an 18th-century coaching inn turned farmhouse that had been abandoned for nearly a decade—they transformed it into a unique retreat that reflects their love of beauty and art, combined with a longing for simplicity and serenity.
Together with architect Lucilla de Montis and local craftsmen, Marc and Rémy revitalized this quintessential regional farmhouse, built directly into the rock with vaulted ceilings in the ground-floor rooms. But they didn’t stop there; the trio also designed two wooden houses with expansive bay windows, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor living. The latest addition to the property? A 20m² tent, ideal for glamping enthusiasts looking for a unique experience. In the garden, landscaper Luc Echilley worked his magic, enhancing the estate to perfectly embody the spirit of the South. It’s a renovation done just right!

A taste for beauty
Marc and Rémy, driven by their passion and keen eye for design, took charge of decorating the newly renovated farmhouse. Their inspiration was boundless! As dedicated art enthusiasts, they used their personal collection of contemporary photographs—featuring works by artists like Patrick Tourneboeuf, Kristoffer Axén, and Brodbeck & de Barbuat—as the foundation for choosing the colors, furniture, and lighting throughout the space. The result is a thoughtfully curated environment where art and design harmoniously coexist.
“The goal was to share this collection throughout the rooms, making it accessible to everyone and sharing our passion for photography.” The result? Raw plaster and earthy colors—like red Alive and green Bain de forêt—that give each room a strong identity, highlighted by the artworks on the walls. Art lovers and fans of historic charm will surely appreciate this blend of styles!

With a deep appreciation for design and a love for collecting, Marc and Rémy carefully curated the decor at Mas Re.Source. Iconic design pieces—such as the Le Corbusier sofas that once graced their Parisian apartment—vintage treasures found at the famous Barjac antique fair, others bought at auctions, and travel souvenirs…
Subtle touches catch the eye, like the olive tree slice, sanded and varnished, on which two sinks have been placed in one of the bathrooms. This blend of the rustic and raw wood with white ceramics works beautifully and echoes the modern touches added to the building: metal and steel staircases and terrace, concrete frames… seamlessly integrated with the 300-year-old stone, to the delight of the eyes.
