"The house and garden are very peaceful, giving the feeling of being in the countryside right in the heart of Nyons."

When Soline and Steven came across Villa Barri—thanks to a small ad on Le Bon Coin—it was love at first sight. From the very first visit, they knew this place had potential. They could already picture themselves living there! Without a second thought, they made an offer and became the proud owners of this 18th-century townhouse, spread over four floors and nestled right in the heart of Nyons, a charming medieval village in the Drôme known for being the birthplace of writer René Barjavel and, of course, its famous olives.

With its lush courtyard, Villa Barri feels like a countryside villa—yet it’s a peaceful haven just minutes from the bustling shops and restaurants of Nyons. After nine months of careful renovations, including the addition of a pool, the villa is now ready to welcome up to ten guests. It truly has everything you could want for the perfect vacation: a serene garden, charming terraces, a pétanque court, a cozy fireplace, premium bedding, and a concierge service to ensure a completely stress-free stay.

Having family in the region, Soline had been spending her vacations there since childhood. Eventually, she and her husband took the plunge, moving to Nyons with their children and embarking on a second local adventure: the renovation of Villa Barri.

Without any prior experience in construction or design, they dedicated nearly a year of weekends and lunch breaks to the project. And it was worth every effort! “We wanted an elegant home where people would feel at ease.” Mission accomplished! They transformed the slightly outdated décor while preserving the charm of this old bourgeois property, creating a space that’s both incredibly comfortable and perfectly tailored to the needs of vacationers.

A tribute
to Provence

To decorate and furnish Villa Barri, Soline and Steven were eager to showcase local craftsmanship. They scoured the region’s brocantes and antique shops, uncovering hidden treasures. The villa’s interiors reflect their finds: lithographs from a painter in Valence, tableware crafted by local ceramist Sandrine Bonfils, and a mural in the living room painted by a Nyons artist.

These thoughtful touches reflect the couple’s love for Provence and the talent of its artisans. The careful curation is evident—Villa Barri feels like a family home where each object and piece of furniture has been lovingly collected over time.

Once the renovations were complete, Soline and Steven equipped Villa Barri with top-tier amenities: brand new organic latex mattresses made in France, organic cotton pillows and bath linens, satin sheets from the Vosges, and high-quality kitchen appliances, including a large plancha. They also ensured their guests would enjoy exceptional services: personalized check-in, private chefs, in-home massages, a concierge service, and organized activities in the region.

And there’s more! Starting in summer 2025, guests can enjoy even more space, as the neighboring house—featuring three bedrooms, a studio, and another pool—will be available to rent alongside Villa Barri.
