In Gassin, just 20 minutes from Saint-Tropez, a revamped 1980s Provençal home, given a fresh new look by an interior designer. Tucked away in a lush 1,100 m² garden with a pool, this property is designed to host eight guests eager to embrace the rhythm of the French Riviera.

"The house has a wonderful sense of well-being that you can feel the moment you step inside. It radiates a deep sense of serenity."

Built in the 1980s, Villa Tosca embodies the charm of a classic Provençal home, with its rendered stone façades, triple-arched terracotta roof tiles, and elegant white shutters. Completing the idyllic setting, olive and palm trees frame the pool. When interior designer Sara Skalli and her partner Eliott purchased the property in 2022, they set out to renovate it—preserving its authentic charm while enhancing it with modern comfort.

Envisioning Villa Tosca as a “small boutique hotel,” they designed four bedrooms and two bathrooms within the single-story home. Accommodating up to eight guests, the villa offers the perfect setting for a French Riviera getaway—whether exploring the region or unwinding in the lush garden, which boasts views of the vineyards and the distant sea, or lounging by the infinity pool.

Welcome to Villa Tosca !

Welcome to Villa Tosca !

As a talented interior designer, it was only natural for Sara to take on the transformation of Villa Tosca. After numerous hotel projects in Mexico, the couple set their sights on the French Riviera!

Together with Eliott, they embarked on a (small) renovation: a fresh coat of paint to refresh the 1980s interiors, and the addition of a large corner bench for hosting big dinners… What remains? The lovely Provençal terracotta tiles that cover the floors, the charming slightly vintage yellow tiles in one of the bathrooms, and the exposed beams. Their personal touch: sea grass in two of the bedrooms, instantly evoking the spirit of a holiday!

A Provençal-inspired
decor

To furnish the interiors of Villa Tosca, Sara and Eliott carefully hunted for unique pieces. The result? A perfect blend of 1950s elegance and traditional Provençal charm, with a strong preference for vintage wood and objects steeped in history—like a wooden table topped with glass. The color palette? A mix of natural and vibrant shades, reflecting the dazzling landscapes of the French Riviera!

The warm and inviting layout creates a space where energy flows freely, encouraging relaxation both indoors and out. The garden, a little Eden of its own, offers a stunning 180-degree view of the sea, framed by two ancient olive trees. With its sun-drenched charm reminiscent of Tuscany, it perfectly complements the cozy atmosphere of this Provençal haven.

In Saint-Tropez, vacations unfold leisurely, with mornings spent sipping coffee on a terrace by the harbor, wandering through the stalls of the Provençal markets, and afternoons lounging on Pampelonne Beach.

For the more adventurous, a bike ride along the path just behind the villa leading to Croix-Valmer, a paddleboarding session along the coast, or a boat trip to hidden coves promise unforgettable moments. In the evening, it’s all about the iconic Tropézienne vibe: an aperitif with a sunset view—the best spot for this? Villa Tosca’s terrace!—followed by dinner at a cozy Mediterranean restaurant, and then off to the legendary clubs to dance the night away.
