Rugged cliffs, vast sandy beaches, plains, and valleys… It’s no wonder Normandy is a favorite among city dwellers seeking a breath of fresh air by the sea, but they’re not the only ones drawn to its charm. Whether you’re a day-tripper or in it for the long haul, all lovers of Normandy should head to the northeast of France to discover their next dream vacation home.

Normandy dazzles us for a perfect getaway just two hours from Paris

With its bucolic landscapes, proximity to the Channel, rich historical heritage, and renowned cuisine, Normandy is a source of pride for its locals—and it’s easy to see why. Vacationers also quickly fall under the spell of this corner of France. There’s no shortage of local properties to stay in, offering something for everyone.

Architecture lovers will be enchanted by Maison Sauvage, a stylish cabin tucked away in the woods of the Perche region, guaranteeing a peaceful escape. For a cozy fireside retreat with a tea-time vibe, the charming cottage La Roquerie is the perfect choice.

Normandy also boasts vast estates—manors, châteaux, and revamped old farms—ideal for larger groups. Properties like Le Val Gaudry, La Maison Villeneuve, and Château de Bernières are just a few examples. For a different atmosphere, there’s Abbaye de Deauville, a stunning property overlooking the sea.

In the same seaside town, Villa de Byans stands out with its rare indoor pool. If you prefer exploring one of Normandy’s largest cities, Laurence du Tilly’s property in Caen offers an ideal base. For adventurers, Riverside House, a 19th-century bourgeois home at the foot of the Seine, offers the perfect retreat after a day of hiking. So grab your raincoat and finest Breton stripes—it’s time to head to Normandy!
