“The jewel of Casa di Tramito, nestled in the Lucca mountains, offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the surrounding nature.”
Built around 400 years ago, Casa di Tramito originally served as housing for the estate’s caretakers. By the time its current owners discovered it in 2018, the building had been abandoned for over a decade. After five years of meticulous restoration, the charming Casa di Tramito—now comprising the main villa, the old farmhouse (each with its own private pool!), and a chapel—welcomes its first guests.
This exceptional 70,000 m² estate, with its vineyard and 1,500 olive trees, perfectly balances preserved authenticity with modern amenities and high-end finishes. It offers everything you could wish for in a vacation. An enchanting setting where a group of ten can savor the tranquility of the countryside, all while being close to the picturesque city of Lucca and the Versilia coast, famous for its charming seaside villages.
A quintessentially
Tuscan building
When we think of Tuscany, we often picture the iconic red farmhouses scattered across the rolling countryside. This distinctive color comes from a natural paint made from local soil rich in iron oxide, combined with clay, water, and lime. More than just a tradition, this economical and accessible paint has adorned the facades of countless local buildings over the years, helping to shape the unique Tuscan landscape!
To our delight, the owners of Casa di Tramito chose to embrace this technique during the renovation, preserving the property’s authenticity. “Traditional rural architecture serves as the outer shell, while the interior offers modern finishes that respect the original materials.” Indeed, the villa provides all the comfort you could desire on vacation. In the garden, you can unwind on Royal Botania daybeds by the pool, taking in the breathtaking view of Lucca. Inside, each bedroom comes with its own bathroom, and the spacious kitchen is fully equipped for preparing local specialties like panzanella or ribollita—dishes you’ll be eager to recreate when you return home.
A true journey through time when wandering through the garden of Casa di Tramito.
A house
that caters to its guests
To start the day off right, breakfast in bed.
In every room, you’ll truly appreciate the sleek decor and furnishings, thoughtfully sourced from brands like Ethnicraft, Heerenhuis, and Verellen. The natural tones beautifully complement the original materials, such as terracotta tiles and exposed beams, creating a harmonious blend of rustic charm and modern elegance.
Another standout feature of Casa di Tramito is the advanced technology designed for ultimate comfort. Yes, indeed! From backlit mirrors and touch-sensitive appliances to clever and functional layouts, these modern touches might sound like a gimmick, but once you experience them, you won’t want to live without them. And the cherry on top? You can arrange for a masseur or a chef to elevate your stay to pure indulgence. It’s the perfect opportunity to fully unwind before savoring a delicious Tuscan meal on the terrace, with breathtaking views of the vineyards and olive groves. If this isn’t the dolce vita, what is?
You wake up to views of vineyards and olive groves.
Luxury, peace, and tranquility
At Casa di Tramito, the only sounds you’ll hear are those of nature. It doesn’t get much better than this! Each day, you can spot deer gracefully roaming the estate, which you can observe from the terracotta terrace under the pergola while sipping an espresso. In this preserved haven, it’s all about embracing the slow life, Tuscan countryside style.
After leisurely strolls through the vineyards and olive groves, you can venture out to explore the nearby towns and villages. Start with Lucca, a charming city on the banks of the Serchio River, famous for its Renaissance walls that encircle the historic center and its cobbled streets. The wide, shaded avenues are perfect for walkers and cyclists alike. Classical music enthusiasts will enjoy a visit to La Casa di Puccini, the birthplace of the renowned opera composer, now a museum dedicated to his life and work.
For a break between sightseeing or walks, the owners of Casa di Tramito have plenty of excellent recommendations: savor a meal at Osteria Miranda, relax at Bar Tambellini, or enjoy wine tastings at Villa Santo Stefano. Tuscany’s rich culinary and wine culture is something you’ll want to savor over and over again!
You pass through the estate’s gate to set off and explore Tuscany.
