The coziest historical townhouse

"People usually find themselves pretty inspired by the house's unique setting and history."

A love-at-first-sight kind of house! When walking around the sinuous streets of Saint-Paul-de-Vencea beautiful medieval town, like many you can find throughout France –, you simply can’t miss this unique jasmine-covered façade overshadowing a piece of French history. Also known as “La Maison Prévert,” this illustrious property is a testament to artistry and refinement. Meticulously restored and refurbished by Katie Lyons Interiors, “La Miette” has been transformed into an enchanting seasonal accommodation with two suites, inviting guests to immerse themselves in its timeless poetic charm.

Preserving Heritage

When they stumbled upon the listing for La Miette in a property estate catalog they randomly picked up in a parking lobby, owners Katie and Oli were astounded to discover that La Maison Prévert was up for sale. Being familiar with the historical significance of this place and the rich cultural heritage of Saint Paul, they wasted no time in making their decision.

On this journey, the experienced interior design duo was guided by one core conviction: to preserve the house’s original charm while offering guests an exceptional experience. Now, the shelves are adorned with an array of Jacques Prévert’s poetry books, inviting guests to immerse themselves in the poetic world that once filled these walls.

Every element has been meticulously selected, from the meticulously restored wooden beams, each with its own story to tell, to the carefully chosen antique furnishings. Additionally, the house features an ancient fireplace, inviting cozy evenings of warmth and solace by the hearth during crisp winter nights.

La Miette has truly become a sanctuary, a haven where famous authors and amateur writers alike find themselves immersed in an atmosphere of peace and inspiration. It’s a place where creativity flourishes, surrounded by the echoes of history. Features like the large bathroom with a vaulted ceiling, accessible through a mysterious tunnel, add a touch of intrigue to the house, further accentuating its unique and luxurious character.

After a successful renovation experience, the owners expanded their vision by acquiring the neighboring townhouse, Number 5, to elevate their interpretation of luxurious Provençal style. Renting both properties is an option that can accommodate up to 10 guests and provide the perfect backdrop for a holiday. As with Number 5, Katie and Oli stand ready to arrange any activities or services that could further enhance your stay…
