Ideally suited for accommodating three couples, each suite, on different floors, offers its own distinct charm. The careful selection of materials and hues adds to the allure: bathrooms adorned with copper and cast-iron bathtubs, natural stone sinks, and a blend of reclaimed wood with refined marble in the kitchen. A conscientious and meaningful project
Portrait of Katie Lyons, interior designer and owner of Number 5 and La Miette - © Helen Cathcart
Katie, hailing from London, and Oli, from Kent, have reimagined the space from floor to ceiling, preserving its historical charm while significantly enhancing this gem of a house. They were fortunate to acquire it after their experience with La Miette, also known as La Maison Prévert, located close to this property.
As an interior design duo, Katie and Oli set out with a primary goal: to transform multiple rooms into spacious suites. Every detail, from the beautifully preserved wooden beams, doors, and arches to the Moroccan zelliges tiles, reflects their commitment to Provençal luxury. This dedication is further exemplified by a carefully curated selection of vintage items from Katie’s personal collection, amassed over the years. Unique pieces like consoles, desks, and armchairs, envisioned by Katie, the creative force of the duo, were brought to life by skilled local artisans.
Meticulous attention to detail was paramount in their design approach, from the precisely applied chaux ferrée on the walls to the thoughtful creation of a local-style living experience, envisioned by this passionate couple now settled in Nice. Imagine watching the sunrise from bed, savoring a glass of local wine or pastis from the honesty bar on the quaint terrace, and indulging in a relaxing bath while overlooking the stunning view.
The right Provençal lifestyle
Are you seeking a more profound immersion into the Provençal luxury lifestyle? The owners offer to arrange additional activities or services beyond your stay. These include wine tastings, in-home massages, daily housekeeping services, or even the luxury of a private chef to indulge you in the art of local cuisine. And there’s more beyond the walls of this exquisite home. Saint-Paul de Vence, one of the most beautiful medieval towns in France, renowned for its galleries, art foundations, and iconic eateries like La Colombe d’Or—a place of cherished childhood memories for Katie—perfectly embodies the fusion of tranquility with art, history, and communal experiences. Here, among the winding streets, you will find a seamless harmony between serene reflection and vibrant cultural interaction.
