From Roma to Rambouillet

Dating back to the 20th century, the former farmhouse and stables that now make up La Rambolitaine were once owned by an Italian family. Subtle traces of this heritage remain in details reminiscent of Italian palazzi: marble floors, wood paneling, intricate moldings, and statues dotted throughout the garden.

Today, Lamisse and Martin have added their own touch to the property. Their style? A blend of country charm and natural materials—like the burlap featured in several rooms—paired with colors that reflect the surrounding landscape, such as the green sofa in the living room. This unexpected combination of styles makes it one of these truly unique and inviting country houses.

What could be better than a country house for gathering with family or a big group of friends? While some enjoy a game of football, others might take a stroll in the woods or nap in the attic, before reuniting for a grand feast in the spacious dining room.

At La Rambolitaine, every detail has been carefully planned to accommodate both children and adults: baby beds, high chairs, toys, books, a sandbox, and kid-friendly dishes. Travel light and with peace of mind. Adults can unwind on the terrace, enjoy the game room with foosball and pool tables, relax in the cinema room, or play pétanque. It’s a home designed for making memories with loved ones.

Countryside charm

Parisians know that the Haute Vallée de Chevreuse is a true escape, whether for vacations or daily life, offering a haven of preserved nature that’s always worth revisiting. Explore the Rambouillet Forest for mushroom hunting, hike around the picturesque village of Dampierre-en-Yvelines, shop at the large market before picnicking in the gardens of the Château de Versailles, or enjoy biking and horseback riding near the Étangs de Hollande.

Back at La Rambolitaine, bake pies with fresh orchard fruits, roast marshmallows by the fireplace, or relax with a good book in the cozy wood-paneled library. A simple, pastoral retreat just under two hours from Paris.
